New Delhi, December 30, (LAB) Various online institutes/websites like open Pathshala are coming up to teach Sanskrit to the masses.
Since the grammar of Sanskrit is rule-bound, formula-bound, and logical, it makes it highly appropriate to write algorithms. The outcomes favour the integration of a language that can be converted into machine computing to enhance Artificial Intelligence efficiency.
The Sanskrit language, the most ancient one, has found its place in many applications of machine language. If asked is the Sanskrit language still relevant today? The answer is Yes. Sanskrit vocabulary has been absorbed by many Indian languages and it lives through them. Someone who speaks Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, or any regional Indian language can find a lot of vocabulary in their mother tongue to be similar to that of Sanskrit.
People recite mantras and shlokas which are in Sanskrit. Texts like Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and Upanishads are in Sanskrit originally.
Slogans and mottos of various institutes and companies in India are in Sanskrit.
Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medicine remains the most ancient yet living tradition. Ayurveda texts are used by vaidyas even today for diagnosis and remedies.
Efforts have been taken on a wide scale to popularise Sanskrit. People of Mattur in Karnataka / Jhiri in Madhya Pradesh speak in Sanskrit!
At the school and college levels, options are being provided to learn the Sanskrit language as part of the curriculum. Two states in India – Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have Sanskrit as their official language. In countries like US, UK, and Germany, their universities have Sanskrit departments.
The US Space organization, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has also adopted Sanskrit as their machine language.
A Nasa Scientist Rick Briggs published a paper in 1985 in the spring issue of Artificial Intelligence magazine saying that Sanskrit is the Natural language being the best option to be converted into the computing program for robotic control and Artificial Intelligence technology.
The research of Briggs entitled Vedic Science- ‘Knowledge Representation in Sanskrit and Artificial Intelligence. The research focuses on Sanskrit among the pool of many human languages, explaining that it is one of the most suitable ones for computing techniques.
The Government of India is encouraging private institutions to make Sanskrit reach to masses and get in-depth knowledge of the rich resources in our traditional ancient Texts./ SNG/LAB/
