New Delhi, Oct 22 (LAB) In a significant development, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed Israel’s participation in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program. Effective immediately, qualified Israeli citizens are granted visa-free entry for short-term visits to the United States. This privilege can be accessed by seeking authorization via the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).
This development signifies that Israeli citizens can now journey to the United States for durations up to 90 days without the necessity of obtaining a visa. This move not only alleviates the earlier extensive visa application procedures but also fortifies the already strong ties in terms of security, economics, and interpersonal relations between the United States and Israel./LAB/SNG
